As normal I took on the London to Brighton Bike ride with the team from NPower (Didcot A Power Station)
The weather was good at the start, sunny with a nice cool breeze, the temperature dropped later in the day, and with that came a brief spell of rain.
The rain didn’t matter too much as we were all full of food, beer and cider.
The cycling was dangerous, because of the sheer volume of cyclists (27K in total). Numerous accidents on the way meant I didn’t finish the 54 miles in the 4 hours I intended.
The highlights as per usual were – the climb to the top of Turners Hill and decent and the infamous Ditchling Beacon and the decent into Brighton averaging 47mph. What a way to finish a great day out.
As per usual the event was well organised by the British Heart Foundation and the NPower Team who were a pleasure to be with.
A big thankyou to the ground crew who organised all the food and hospitality at the end.
